Art has always been how I connect with the world. I was an artist long before I became a photographer, and I still approach every image with the same curiosity about color, movement, light and human connection.
My path to photography began underwater after I became scuba certified nearly seventeen years ago. From there, the camera followed me into everyday life, family, travel and eventually weddings & families. What began as a personal way of holding onto the moments I loved became a way of helping other people hold onto theirs.
Today I live on Hawai‘i Island with my son and a wonderfully full house of rescued animals. I lead a photography and videography team built around warmth, trust and community, and I still feel incredibly lucky each time someone invites me into their story.

Outside of photography, I run Bleu’s Island Animal Sanctuary, a Hawai‘i nonprofit devoted to giving rescued animals safety, care and a place to heal. Every booking with Shelly Lynn helps support the animals in our care, so when you invite me to document your story, you become a small part of theirs, too.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first fell in love with photography underwater after becoming scuba certified nearly fifteen years ago. That love of color, movement and the fleeting moments most people miss eventually led me to weddings, families and the stories that bring people together.
I began Shelly Lynn Photography on Hawai‘i Island by offering sessions to anyone willing to stand in front of my camera. What started as a way to create, learn and connect with my community grew into the work I feel incredibly lucky to do today.
Now I lead a trusted photography and videography team serving Kona, Waikoloa, Hilo and beyond. We approach every story with care, curiosity and a belief that you should feel comfortable enough to be completely yourself.

Shelly fell in love with photography after getting scuba certified almost 15 years ago. Always daydreaming about living somewhere tropical and taking pictures of sea life. Living in Hawaii has been life changing - Giving us the opportunity to be in the water every day off. We often find our favorite spots near Kona, Waikoloa & Hilo

When we aren't working, it is all about our family, traveling & spending time together. Our son Skyler is competing in surfing and we love every minute of watching him thrive out in the water. We have a full house of love with our 2 rescue pups Loki & Yoshi, our perfect cat Stevie Nicks & our colorful parrot Mango. There is never a dull moment and we wouldn't have it any other way.
